The right drain cleaning procedure should be done regularly and correctly. It is especially true if you want to ensure that this thing can do its functions properly.
We all agree that the drain is like our last point of defense, especially to fight the silt and other contaminants that may harm the water systems. Drain warden is a common material used by people nowadays.

Basically, the drain cleaning procedure is not difficult. This is because the shape of this product is like a sheet or like a common fabric.

The Drain Cleaning Procedure
The drain cleaning procedure can be divided into two processes; daily and weekly. Each of them has different procedures to do and here are the steps.
1. Daily Cleaning
To do this daily clean, first, you have to flush the drains with water. Then just clean it with a hard broom to collect any debris if you can see it. After that, put them into a dustbin and send them to the scrap yard.
If you want to, you may sprinkle the bleaching powder as well and keep it for 15 minutes. After that, flush this product with water again. Then pour any disinfectant solutions.
Make sure to use the right concentration based on the standard operational procedure. It is done and done forget to clean the hard broom and brush as well.
2. Weekly Cleaning
The drain cleaning procedure that is done weekly is maybe more complicated. However, the result is deeper and better since it requires some actions as follows:
- Remove the covers from manholes first and remove all the debris if any.
- Sprinkle the bleaching powder and let it there for about 15 minutes.
- The drain sides must be scrubbed. You can use a hard brush for this step.
- Use a lot of water to flush it
- Then, clean the adjacent walls by using water as well.
- Change the manhole covers and don’t forget to wipe its surrounding parts
- The lids must be replaced too in case of damage
- After that, clean all your equipment such as the hard brush, brooms, dustpan, and so on, after cleaning this drain.
This weekly drain cleaning procedure must be done at least once in 4 months. However, you may do it before if the drainage is too dirty.
About Disinfecting this Product
It is also recommended to disinfect this drain, but there are some notes to know. First of all, the drain point has to be cleaned with purified water.
Don’t forget to remove the accumulated dust there. Then pour enough amount of water into this drain point and prepare the disinfectant solution properly.
Measure about 500 ml of this disinfectant solution and pour it into each drain point. Usually, this activity or the drain cleaning procedure has been described in the manual book.
